Project Overview

We love a client on a mission to make the world a better place. So when Cricket for Climate, a player-led movement founded in 2021 by Australian Men’s Cricket Test Captain Pat Cummins, approached Heist Creative to capture its inaugural Academy Conference at the Q Station in Manly, we were bowled over at the opportunity to use our skills for global climate action.

The conference brought together a handpicked group of changemakers from the cricket, business, and local communities to learn, discuss, and create climate action plans to bring about change.

Project scope at a glance:

  • Multi-day shoot

  • Full event capture with image gallery per day and corresponding B-Roll

  • Official event sizzle video with cutdown versions

  • Multiple Vox Pop video testimonials from attendees

  • Full keynote speaker videos that are being repurposed via multiple channels

What we did

Over two days, Nikki, Leo, and Dan from Heist delivered a full conference capture, including images of keynote speakers, participants, group activities, breaks, and learning sessions. We also handled video coverage of the entire conference, enabling Cricket for Climate to repurpose assets for future campaigns (including airing at New York Climate week!).

A true collaboration, we were fully immersed with the event team, who gave us their complete trust to deliver the brief in a way that didn't disrupt the delegate’s experience by being discreet and respectful while still capturing the process,

Outcomes

Cricket for Climate now has a comprehensive range of image and video assets that can be used to promote future conferences.

The keynote speaker videos have been packaged up to enable the organisation to use them for educational online seminars, with one video having aired at New York Climate Week.

Assets include significant evergreen content that can help fuel the organisation’s marketing activities (hold the climate emissions), delivering even better value.

You only get one chance to capture a conference; no do-overs or retakes. Luckily, our team have extensive experience that enables us to visually document those moments in real time.
