Nikki Malvar, Creative Director, built Heist Creative from the ground up - with a journalism degree, hands-on experience across each corner of the production world, a streak of creative defiance, and a deep obsession with storytelling in all its forms. She cut her teeth digitising tapes for editors back when hard drives weighed more than your head, booked models at a busy agency, and ran in-house content for a manufacturing firm before deciding: enough. It was time to start planning her own jobs, not just pulling off other peoples.

In the early days, Heist made its name as one of Sydney’s first and most sought-after branding photography studios. But what looked like portraits was really strategy in disguise: she was styling, directing, producing, and storyboarding full campaigns, all under the banner of “a photoshoot.”

And while Heist is largely responsible for fueling Sydney's girlboss era (our sincerest apologies), Heist has since evolved into a full-scale creative production studio built for brands with edge. We now mastermind brand films, campaign photography, and story-led visuals for tastemakers who don’t want beige, they want brilliant.

Good brands don’t whisper politely in the background. They command taste, attention, and culture. We just happen to be the ones pulling the strings.
